CRECE, the Central American Refugee Committee of the East Bay based in Oakland, CA was founded by a refugee and survivor of the El Salvador Civil War in 1990.

CRECE is a grass roots non-profit organization chartered to serve our community of immigrant Central American refugee families who have fled the El Salvador civil war and the deep economic depression that followed.

Crece's mission is to organize and educate the Latino immigrant community to improve its social, economic and cultural conditions with empathy, compassion, and respect.

CRECE members make annual visits to bring hope and resources to the most impoverished rural communities in El Salvador.
