José Manuel Fernandez is an aspiring community organizer, 4th year student at UC Berkeley, and only son to two beautiful immigrants. Born and raised in Los Angeles, José has strong ties to his city and wants to return and dedicate his life to serving the youth in his community. Having been involved heavily with student organizing for social justice at UC Berkeley, José wanted to use his education to serve people beyond the university. He desired a space that specifically addressed the conditions of the communities he came from. It is through CRECE that he found a way to meld theory and practice together to serve the people he cares about.
